Common Dial-Up Networking Errors:
|
Error 602: Description: The modem is being used by another dial-up connection.
Solution: If you have
multiple modems installed on your computer, make sure your dial-up
connection is connecting using the correct modem.
|
Error 629: Description: You have been disconnected by the computer you have dialed.
Solution: Verify you are using the correct username and password combination. Also make sure the phone number which is being dialed
is not configured to use area code and dialing properties. Finally, compare TCP-IP settings with those
described in the Dial-Up Networking Configuration. |
Error 630: Description: The computer is not receiving a response from the modem.
Solution: Verify
that the dialer is looking at the correct modem. If the modem is
internal, restart the computer and check for a response from the
modem. If the modem is external, turn the modem off then back on.
You may need to disable your modem init string if you are using one
in the extra settings box. As a last resort, you may need to check
the diagnostic tab in the modem control panel, clicking on the port
corresponding with the modem. If none of the above work, you may
need to reinstall the modem.
|
