Dedicated Access
RLC can connect your business to the Internet with your choice of analog or
high-speed digital lines. These connections can serve an individual computer or a
computer network. In addition to greater speeds, you also eliminate
the cost of extra modem lines and the time it takes to dial out and connect to the Internet. The benefits can
be substantial if your personnel are relying more heavily on e-mail or the web today.
This service differs from our "no idle timeout" option on dial-up service. You stay
connected 24 hours/day on an exclusive access line. Simply launch your browser or
email client and you're in business!
Setup fees include all configuration and hardware purchase consultation. You will be
responsible for the cost of the router however. These range from $500–$2,000,
depending on the speed of the connection you choose.
All dedicated access plans include 25 MB of web site hosting on our backbone, DNS, and 10
e-mail accounts. However, with a 128k or faster connection, you may choose to setup
your own Internet server.
Dedicated analog
connections are nice for
instantaneous notification of
e-mail. Not appropriate for
web browsing or
downloading.
ISDN
1-15
Good for instant e-mail.
E-mail may seem sluggish if
several people are browsing
the web simultaneously. You
can integrate LAN and
Internet mail and save money by running your
own Internet mail server.
T1
15-?
Allows you to run all types of
Internet servers in-house.
Large numbers of employees
can enjoy high-speed access.
For more than one client you'll
need a software router like
WinGate. If you run NT Server or
UNIX you can setup routing in the
OS. A regular hardware router
will work also.
ISDN
$600
Ascend Pipeline 50 ISDN Router
or Cisco 700 Series.
T1
$2,000
Cisco or Compatible Systems T1
WAN router. You will also need a
"CSU/DSU" unless your router
has this built-in.
