Verifying Windows 95/98 Network Settings
1) Find the "My Computer" icon and double click on it.
2) Find the "Control Panel" icon and double click on it.
3) Find the "Network" icon and double click on it.
4) This brings up the Network Configuration. To function properly, RLC requires that the Dial Up Adapter, and TCP/IP are installed. Many also have Client for Microsoft Networks installed as their Primary Network Logon.
5) Double click on Dial-Up Adapter and verify that the TCP/IP box is checked under the Bindings tab.
6) After doing this, click OK to return to the Network Configuration, then double click on TCP/IP to bring up the TCP/IP Properties. Under the Bindings tab, verify that the Microsoft Client for Windows box is checked.
7) Next, under the DNS Configuration tab, verify that Disable DNS is selected.
8) Under the IP Address tab, verify that the Obtain an IP address automatically option is selected.
9) Finally, verify that the Disable WINS Resolution option is selected under the WINS Configuration tab. Click OK to return to the Network Configuration, and OK again to exit. If you have made any changes to your configuration, Windows may prompt you to restart your computer.
