The Beginning
RLC Internet was founded in 1994 as Red Light Communications to serve the growing demand for Internet web page design, hosting, and access services. RLC quickly distinguished itself from its competitors by offering in-house web site design and programming services.

The web site created for initial customer Dave Matthews Band received national recognition, and is credited for helping facilitate the grass-roots movement that helped the band achieve national popularity.

Making Strides
In mid-1996, RLC began offering what was then pioneering technology, e-commerce, to its clients. RLC quickly expanded its musical clients base to include The Samples, Blues Traveler, Cheap Trick, and many other major-label and regional acts.

By joining forces with an affiliated mail-order and fulfillment operation, RLC offered complete turn-key merchandising programs to bands. To date, RLC Internet serves as exclusive online distributors for more than twenty bands. |
Growth
In the Fall of 1997, RLC acquired local competitor comet.net's dial-up customer base. The acquisition, combined with steady web site hosting and e-commerce growth, further established RLC as a up-and-coming Internet Service Provider.
To better serve its growing customer base, RLC completely overhauled its network infrastructure by investing in new equipment from Cisco, Compaq, and 3Com/USRobotics. In addition, RLC migrated to the Microsoft Back-Office suite, including Windows NT, IIS 4.0, Site Server, and SQL Server software products.
The Future
In January 1999, RLC merged with affiliated companies MMF and MusicToday.com to form an e-commerce and phone/mail-order enterprise poised for rapid growth in today's hottest industry.

| The resulting MusicToday.com organization will retain its RLC Internet division to serve local access customers and non music-related customers. |
